The question of who wins custody of Roxy and Jack’s daughter Amy has faded into the background over the last few weeks but there is no doubt, with the court case looming, that the question will be on the lips of many people very soon.
While there is no doubt that there were initial problems when Roxy left Amy with Ben and Jay it is unclear exactly why her baby was taken into custody and handed over to Jack. However, what it does do is open up one of the most bitter and fiercely fought custody battles we have seen on Albert Square. There are many who cannot believe that Jack has taken Amy away from her mum while there are others who fully support Jacks move even if his family are not whiter than white.
If the rumours are correct the situation will be complicated even more by the fact that Roxy and Jack share a drunken night of passion together just prior to the court case. Will this soften Jack’s insistence that Roxy is not fit to be a mother or will Roxy use this as a means of getting back at Jack while the court case is ongoing?
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops because when you also take into account the fact that Ronnie, the really love of Jack’s life, is still in prison, how will she react when she finds that Roxy has yet again slept with her man. There are no plans to bring back the character of Ronnie in the short to medium term but there is no doubt there is an opening for a storyline to include Ronnie from her prison base.
It has been a while since we saw a Roxy, Ronnie and Jack storyline really hit the headlines although in the coming weeks this is certain to be the case. Roxy is adamant that Derek Branning is a danger to her daughter because of his history of violence and criminal activity while Jack insists that Ronnie is not fit to be a mother having left her daughter with two teenagers. This will also bring together the warring families of the Mitchells and the Brannings, not that they really need an excuse to cause problems for each other!
