One of the intriguing questions in Eastenders over the next few months will be whether Max Branning can take the pressure of shielding his daughter-in-law from being revealed as the real killer of Archie Mitchell. There is no doubt that Max believes he owes Stacey and Bradley something for what she has done to them in the past but whether he can see his son constantly blamed for the death of Archie Mitchell remains to be seen.

There were rumours that Stacey would return for Bradley’s funeral but these proved false and while everybody else was there the one-person Max wanted could not make it. It is uncertain as to when Stacey will return to the Square and in what state she will be after the most devastating 12 months of her life. Will she ever be the same again? Will she spill the beans and tell everybody who really killed Archie?
