The very complicated and controversial subject of unwanted pregnancies has reared its head on Eastenders again and while Lucy initially told Jane she would have a child for her and allow her to bring it up she suddenly changed her mind when it all became too much for her. Her father Ian Beale arranged to take her to the hospital where she had an abortion although as of yet Jane is not where of what happened and believes that Lucy miscarried. So when will Jane find out the truth?

It is becoming more and more evident that Lucy does not like lying to Jane despite the fact that Ian is putting her under more and more pressure to remain silent. The two women have had a very volatile and often shaky relationship although after Lucy’s pregnancy they now appear to be closer than ever. Indeed Lucy has referred to Jane as her mother and it is unlikely she will be able to retain her secret for much longer. But how will this affect Ian and Jane?
