It only seems like a few days since Ricky Butcher left the Square having been effectively pushed out by Bianca and her mother Carol. However, the emergence of Ray, Morgan’s real father, has certainly set the cat amongst the pigeons and despite initially being furious with Whitney for inviting Ray into their lives, Bianca certainly seems to be coming to terms with the situation.

As one of our recent online polls showed, Ricky Butcher has a very strong fan base on Eastenders and many of them will be dismayed to see Bianca effectively jumping from Ricky to Ray in a relatively short period of time. Whether she will indeed begin a relationship with her former lover remains to be seen but it is already starting to cause problems amongst the kids. Thankfully, Carol Jackson has been made aware of the situation regarding Bianca and Ray and she has made plans for Bianca and her children to go away and see her sister for a few days.

We have seen a flurry of new characters onto Eastenders over the last few months and it seems that we can expect more in the short to medium term. We have recently seen the biggest turnover in characters in Eastenders for many years and the make-up and characters of Albert Square are certainly changing on a regular basis. Whether or not fans of Eastenders will appreciate this significant turnover in characters remains to be seen but there is one thing that is certain, the show did need a new injection of new blood.
