It was quite a heart warming Eastenders tonight with both Martin and Joe struggling to come to terms with the death of Pauline, in their own different ways. 

Joe seems on the verge of a breakdown as he tries to understand his feelings for Pauline and the situation.  On the other hand Martin has taken a more hands on approach, offering an olive branch to Joe and going through the funeral arrangements with Dot.

While Pauline did upset a few people, and spoke her mind, the whole of the population of Walford seem to have turned against her - strange in an area where gangsters and murders have been “seen off” from their own local boozer.  Will Martin’s heart felt please to Peggy be successful? Will Joe admit his true feelings to feelings?

Dawns has responded to Robs pleas to keep the baby, but Dawn seems determined to use the baby as a bargaining tool for more access to Rob.  This has the makings of a real storyline, and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Over at the Wicks household, it looks as though we are set for more fun and games with their “new years  celebrations”.  Kevin Wicks and his family also offer light relief from the stresses and strains of every day life in Eastenders, but is this about to be shattered by the return of his ex-wife?
