This action packed episode of Eastenders begins with Martin holding Phil’s son Ben over the side of the railway bridge, threatening to drop him unless Phil helps to find Rebecca.  Phil finally agrees to talk with Martin and passes his phone so that Martin can speak to Sonia.

While Sonia hangs up the phone and refuses to speak, Phil whisks Ben away and leaves Martin to contemplate what is left in his life.  Phil is obviously feeling guilty over his part in Sonia’s escape and while furious with Martin, he takes no immediate action.

Ian plays a big part in coaxing Martin down and takes him home to look after him - although Martin is distraught and not in the mood for talking.  Martin finally disappears and returns to his family home, sitting contemplating how his life has changed.  At the very end, Sonia appears with Rebecca to return her to Martin and hand herself in - but how will Martin react?

Elsewhere Dawn decides that enough is enough and organises an appointment with the clinic to terminate her surrogate baby.  Aware that Rob and May will not be happy, Dawn only tells Carly who tries to make her see sense and consider the situation in full.  Unmoved, Dawn decides to go ahead with the abortion.

The Wicks’ household is still up in the air with Shirley’s plans to get back into the family fold in tatters, when she resorts back to her old ways, spending Carly’s food money on a drink in the Vic.  After an ugly confrontation with Carly, Kevin decides to put his foot down and throw Shirley out, only to find that she has found a flat in the square and is determined to stay around for a while yet.
