It has been confirmed that Jessie Wallace, a.k.a. Kat Moon, will be leaving Eastenders for an unspecified period of time due to her personal situation and recent difficulties. Viewers of Eastenders recently saw Kat Moon suddenly disappear to be at the bedside of her father Charlie Slater who has “had a stroke”. So will Kat Moon be back?

There is no doubt that many Eastenders fans will miss the bubbly and often controversial character of Kat Moon and it will have an impact upon the storylines for Alfie Moon in the short to medium term. However, in her personal life Jessie Wallace was recently forced to call off her wedding when she found her husband to be was allegedly seeing another woman at the same time. In a rather strange quirk of fate Jane Beale has again waved goodbye to Albert Square with the character leaving Eastenders on Friday evening. The character originally left some time ago but was brought back when Mandy and Ian got together and the kids started to play up. It is unclear as to why the scriptwriters brought the character Jane Beale back for such a short period of time?

Tanya and Jane were obviously very much at cross purposes with Tanya believing that Jane had changed her mind and was staying when Jane knew in her heart that she was leaving. They had crosswords prior to Jane’s leaving do at the Queen Vic pub but thankfully in the last few seconds of Jane’s departure Tanya showed up and gave her the biggest hug of her life and her best wishes. While the devastating fight between the Masood family and Yusef Khan has ended, the situation is far from over for Tamwar who suffered extreme burns in the fire and was lucky to survive. Not only is there potentially months of plastic surgery to try and correct the scars of the fire but the mental pressure and emotional strain is already beginning to show in his marriage to Afia. The question of who wins custody of Roxy and Jack’s daughter Amy has faded into the background over the last few weeks but there is no doubt, with the court case looming, that the question will be on the lips of many people very soon.

While there is no doubt that there were initial problems when Roxy left Amy with Ben and Jay it is unclear exactly why her baby was taken into custody and handed over to Jack. However, what it does do is open up one of the most bitter and fiercely fought custody battles we have seen on Albert Square.
