The life and times of Kat Moon in Eastenders, aka Kat Slater, have certainly been volatile, controversial and they have grabbed more than their share of headlines. The character, played by Jessie Wallace, originally turned up on the show in September 2000 although she left in November 2004 to return in May 2005. She then left in December 2005 and recently returned on 17 September 2010 with her sidekick Alfie Moon.
When you consider that Kat, the daughter of Charlie and the Slater, was abused by her uncle Harry as a child she has certainly managed to drag herself up from a very difficult start. Fans of the show will be well aware that the very strong bond between Kat Moon and Alfie Moon has been there for many years and indeed it was something of a romantic novel that they actually got together. However, Kat Moon has on numerous occasions seemingly being willing to throw it all away for various gentleman friends. So far Alfie has managed to forgive her for her dalliances, but there is only so much that one man can take and many people believe she will soon push him too far.
Many of us will also have forgotten that Kat Slater, now Kat Moon, actually has a daughter called Zoe who was originally brought up as her sister believing that Kat’s mother and father were her parents. This is by far and away one of the most confusing families in Eastenders and while Zoe left the show some time ago she may be gone but she’s not forgotten.
