The fictional character of Jack Branning in Eastenders has quickly become a hit with the ladies and he has grabbed a number of strong storyline since he arrived on the square. Played by Scott Maslen, formerly a lead actor in The Bill, he is the brother of Max Branning and the son of Jim Branning. In common with his role in The Bill, Jack Branning is an ex-policeman and has something of a murky past which has emerged on numerous occasions since joining the show.

Recently he was involved in a shootout at his nightclub where he inadvertently took a bullet meant for somebody else, which has led to him being partially paralysed but is this only a temporary paralysis?

Jack Branning has had a number of love interests on the square which include Ronnie Mitchell, Roxy Mitchell and now his latest interest which is Chelsea. The character is something of a romeo and he has quickly become one of the favourite members of the cast. It is unclear exactly what the scriptwriters have in store for Jack in the future but one thing is for sure, there are certain to be fireworks, guns and lots of action!
