Brothers, sisters and other family members come and go on a regular basis in Eastenders but this morning many fans are asking is Ryan leaving Eastenders? The actor Neil McDermott, who plays Ryan, was seen grappling with Whitney’s archenemy Rob on Thursday evening with both of them falling into the sea. While a body has been recovered, since identified as Rob, initially it looked like Ryan had literally disappeared and was presumed dead. However, this is Eastenders and this is not the way it works!

Under scrutiny from the police, Whitney was forced to admit that there had been a fight between Ryan and Rob and under guidance from Fatboy she also confessed to her past problems with Rob. It would appear that Ryan had been in contact with Fatboy before speaking to Whitney and he was well aware of the fact that the police were hunting both Rob and Ryan. Unfortunately this now leaves Ryan in a very tricky situation because if the police know he is alive he will be pursued and probably prosecuted for attempted murder, manslaughter or actual murder. So what will happen to Ryan?

There have been rumours for some time that the character of Ryan had run its course and indeed he was one of the many in the frame to have shot Archie. However, while Neil McDermott has become a very popular character in the show it now seems as though his time has come at least for the moment. Many fans out there would be sad to see Ryan leave, if indeed he does leave, but during his relatively short stint on Eastenders he has been involved in some very dramatic storylines.
