Is Phil Mitchell on the brink of a nervous breakdown?

Cast aside by his own mother Peggy, Phil Mitchell is on the road to ruin after falling off the wagon in the most dramatic of fashions. His only friend in the world Shirley is struggling to cope with Phil’s abusive comments, mood swings and obsessive drinking and it looks as though last night was the last straw for her when she heard Phil mocking her to Tracy.

The storyline is becoming a little more dramatic with Ben left in the middle and unable to cope with his father’s drinking and lack of attention. Phil Mitchell has been quiet for some time although it looks as though we have one of the strongest storylines in Eastenders materialising before our very eyes!

Will Peggy return to save Phil from himself? Will Shirley manage to turn Phil around? Will Heather recover from her asthma attack brought on by Phil’s abuse and threatening behaviour?

i dont think its going to far at all,its showing an alcoholic in full swing charged by negativity.im sorry but when he poured vodka over his cornflakes and abused peggy in the vic at the beggining of last week i was in tears of laughter,without a doubt the funniest episode since beales birthday.
but thats how alcoholism is,sometimes funny most of the time a very very deep dark hole.
