The life and times of Janine Butcher has not been easy and there is speculation in the press today that Janine is pregnant. The storyline begins when Michael and Janine are press-ganged into attending Tommy’s birthday with Kat and Alfie and when Michael is handed Tommy this is where the fun and games begin!

Michael, who is the natural father of Tommy, is taken by surprise when he is handed his son and quickly passes him on to Janine. Janine very quickly passes Tommy on and races out of the Queen Vic straight into a row with Ricky about Pat. This is where the speculation begins as to whether or not Janine is pregnant and Michael is the father.

Slowly but surely Janine is pushing away all of her family and all she really has left is Michael and those hangers on who are interested in her money. She has upset Ricky, she has upset Pat and in effect she has upset everybody who was ever been there for her and anybody who has ever cared for her. The problem which Janine may have now is that Michael is a “player” who could use her dependence upon him to get what he wants.

There is some speculation that Michael is set to scam the Janine out of a large chunk of her inheritance because as we have found out over the last few weeks Michael literally has no money left. Will Janine be taken in by the suave conman or will she finally see him for what he is, an evil and destructible character!

We have seen some very manipulative characters over the years in Eastenders but few can match Michael and his very dark and very deep ways. He has been on the verge of being “found out” on a number of occasions but quite bizarrely he always seems to come up smelling of roses. He certainly has his hands full with Janine put slowly but surely she is falling for his charms and she seems set to give him her heart. Will Michael break it, will he play with it or will he actually settle down for a quiet life with Janine?
