Despite the fact that Jane Beale has just returned to Eastenders after an extended absence there is intense speculation as to whether the character is set to leave Eastenders again. Jane Beale has been offered a position in a new restaurant in Cardiff with one of the leading chefs in the UK. So is Jane Beale leaving Eastenders?

Over the last few months there have been some serious changes to the Eastenders cast and despite the fact that Jane Beale has only been back on our screens for a few weeks it looks as though she is on her way again. Tanya, one of her best friends, was absolutely over the moon when she confirmed her successful interview for the restaurant position put her tears of joy turned to tears of sadness once she found out the position was in a Cardiff restaurant. There is no doubt this is the chance of a lifetime for Jane Beale and will certainly give her the opportunity to get her own back on Ian Beale, her husband for many years.

Quite why the scriptwriters of Eastenders have chosen to leave so many cliffhangers with regards to characters leaving the show, will they or wont they return, is unclear but one thing is certain we will see a dramatic change in the cast of Eastenders over the coming months. Whether fans of the show will appreciate such monumental changes in such a short space of time remains to be seen as the scriptwriters are certainly playing with fire by taking away some of the best-known and best loved characters in the show.
