Hot on the heels of sending his father to jail for murder many think he did not commit, Ben Mitchell turns into a cold-blooded killer after an argument with Heather Trott in a shocking new year Eastenders storyline. The scenes for Heather Trott’s tragic exit from Eastenders have already been filmed and the rumours have already started to circulate regarding the would-be killer. So did Ben really kill Heather Trott?

While the popular press are reporting the fact that Ben Mitchell did kill Heather Trott, or he will kill her in a future episode, there are a number of other characters in the frame. Phil Mitchell, Ian Beale, Darren Miller and Ben Mitchell are some of the leading suspects although if we believe the popular press we will see Ben leaving Heather’s flat with his hands dripping with blood. It is not clear exactly why Heather and Ben are set to argue because historically they have got on very well even though Ben allowed Heather to take the rap for her suspected father’s blackmailer.

It also appears that Phil Mitchell will attempt to cover up Ben’s killing which certainly sets the scene for a dramatic confrontation with Heather’s best friend Shirley. Shirley has been friends with Heather Trott for many years now and while they have argued like cat and dog in the past they are very close and more like sisters. Phil has never had time for Heather and Shirley has been well aware of this even if she has taken Phil’s side on numerous occasions in the past.

The loss of Heather from Eastenders will be a blow for many fans as she has become a very popular figure amongst the Eastenders audience. However, it looks as though storylines are now running thin on the ground for Heather Trott despite the fact she has been instrumental in some of the most controversial and dramatic storylines of years gone by. There were even rumours of a cameo appearance by George Michael, the idol of Heather Trott, but with her tragic and dramatic death this cameo appearance seems very unlikely.
