The United Kingdom has had mixed success in the Eurovision Song contest with a handful of wins, second places and failing dismally to have an impact. Thus, former Eastenders star and singer Michelle Gayle is brave to try to represent the UK for the 2008 contest.

Michelle acted in Grange Hill and played Hattie Tavernier in Eastenders (she left the programme about 15 years ago). She is competing against other 5 other acts and we will find out on 1 March if she will represent the UK . Let’s hope it does not signal the end of her career!
