Eastenders Worldwide : US Fans Save The Day

Congratulations to fellow Eastenders fans in the US, who have raised over $50,000 to secure the future of Eastenders in the United States.

After a massive backlash and fund raising exercise from Eastenders fans in the US, Public TV Station WETA-TV have decided to continue broadcasting the show.Â Originally launched in the US in 1988, Eastenders was viewed on over 50 PBD-affiliated stations at the height of its popularity.Â This figure has now reduced to 9, but there is still a substantial fan base in the US.

don’t forget french, italian, german (and others) fans of eastenders (like me =p)eventhough we can only watch it on bbc prime (with a two week’s delay T_T) we still luv it

Just want to say how much i miss the show i live in Pittsburgh,Pa. in the states and i feel lost with out the show. i have to go to the web to find out what is going on and hope to find clips. hopefully you will comeback our way so that we can enjoy all of eastenders again.

just want to say eastenders is so much better then our soaps its more true to life.. thanks

We are so happy to have the show broadcast here in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Me and my wife can’t wait for the episodes. Our local pbs station is increasing the episodes per week by one so we can catch up. We’re still about 5 or so years behind now so it will be sad to see all the characters go that I know are gone on the current episodes. Watch british tv live is an option for enthusiasts who would like to watch the current episodes of this or other shows, for a fee of course!
