It was a tension-filled episode of Eastenders focusing on the Bradley-Stacey-Max-Tanya situation, with Stacey still reeling from the news of Tanya’s pregnancy. She gave Max an ultimatum - to tell Tanya of their affair by 9.30 or that she would. Max, of course tried to riddle out of it but Stacey asked him to drive her home.
Displaying the worst timing ever, Bradley was waiting for Stacey as she returned and was determined to share his feelings for her. Stacey (wearing the shortest belt of a skirt) was clock-watching and wanted to get rid of Bradley as soon as she could, even after he said he wanted to start a relationship with her again. Any other time and she may have relented.
At this time, Max was trying to tell Tanya that all was not well and she thought he was upset about Jim’s treatment of him as a child. As she went upstairs to wait for Max for a night of passion, he rang Stacey to tell her he could not go ahead with leaving Tanya and the girls. Bradley, then turned up at Max and Tanya’s house, heartbroken and was given a quick dose of sympathy and shown the door. All the time the clock was ticking!
Max had a last minute brainwave. A villa had been booked for a 2-week holiday, but flights cancelled when Tanya found out about her pregnancy. He set the girls to work packing and raced upstairs to persuade Tanya of the need to get a holiday. As the clock approached 9.30,various events stopped the Brannings from getting away - Abe’s lost cuddly rabbit, Tanya’s lost purse. Would they get out before Stacey arrived?
The last seconds of the programme showed Stacey arriving at an empty house and receiving a text message saying “Sorry” . Just in the nick of time!
