Shirley appears to come to the rescue today as she helps a couple of Eastenders residents. First off, she sees that Yolande is struggling in balancing her work and she offers to take her bags to charity. However, she spots a rather nice brooch and takes that for herself. A gang of hoodies have been hanging around Albert Square and hassling Dot. Shirley sees the gang off.
Masood and Zainab are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary and he mistakenly thinks that when she says “I want no fuss†it actually means that. At the last minute, he books a table at Fargoes but is stuck for a present, until Shirley sells him the brooch. Unfortunately on their way back from the restaurant, they spot Yolande, who mentions that the brooch originally belonged to her.
It was a busy night at the Eastenders popular restaurant as Jane and Ian met Jane’s brother Christian and his partner, Ashley. It was easy to see why Jane had been reluctant to meet her brother again, as he was quite obnoxious and kept mentioning events concerning Jane’s first husband, David. Christian reveals that he loved both Jane and David and those were the only people that mattered. At this revelation, Ashley left the restaurant and it seemed as though their relationship was over.
The gang of youngsters were still hanging around in Albert Square and Jay joined them as his father Jase was in the Queen Vic. The episode ended with Jay being handed a flick knife as a membership gift.
