Eastenders UpdateTonight’s Eastenders was a mixture of conflict and misery, with a little bit of humour from Dot and her battle against cigarettes.

Starting in the Wicks’ household Denise tries to resolve the major issues between Chelsea and Carly after Friday’s dramatic episode which saw Carly under attack from the sleazy Warren, but Sean racing to the rescue.  Denise seems to succeed in bring the warring parties together, but for how long?

Over in the Square, Stacey is fretting about Max, not knowing what he is thinking, when he is returning and what the future holds for her.  He refuses to answer her calls, although she has a drink with Bradley in the Vic when Max calls, Bradley forgets his mobile, so she decides to ring - Max completely blanked her, and refused to even answer her second call (she leaves a message, but will someone else pick it up?).  Stacey is oblivious to the fact that Bradley is smitten and still in love with her.

Sean tries it on with Carly again, and after a couple of embarrassing incidents she threatens to tell Chelsea - but Sean calls her bluff.  However, she is adamant that Chelsea needs to know what is going on, but amazingly after Carly tells her the full story, she refuses to believe her - accusing her of being jealous!

Elsewhere Dot is struggling to give up smoking and in her desperation she uses lots of nicotine patches, and nasal spray at the same time, then collapses after a dizzy spell - she has overdosed!  She also tries hypnosis, but is disturbed at a critical time.  What next for Dot?

Darren tries every trick in the book to avert his father’s planned move to south London, but to no avail.  Even the promise of a place with Mickey goes wrong, but surely Darren and Libby can hatch a plan to stay together? Or will Keith change his mind and finally listen to his son?

In the final scene we see Chelsea and Carly at loggerheads again - will the penny ever drop with Chelsea? Will she really see Sean for what he is?
