Having been persuaded to stay in Albert Square by Dot, Clare tries to find herself a job. Jane Beale has taken an instant dislike to her and offered her a job at the chip shop. Tanya had found herself short staffed but did not want to take Chelsea on after her spell in prison. However, Yolande persuaded Tanya to give Chelsea a chance. Tanya interviewed both Clare and Chelsea at the same time as Mo Harris was in need of a leg wax, they also did a practical assignment. Poor Mo was in extreme pain from Clare’s lack of experience. Tanya offered the job to Chelsea but Clare showed her skills as a good receptionist.

New Eastenders partners Christian and Ian got a catering job for a children’s party. Ian left it up to Jane to do the catering (as she was trying to run the cafe) whilst he got drunk at a Council function. This did not go down well with Christian, who resorted to buying takeaway burger and chips for the children.

Elsewhere, Hazel overheard Minty and Garry discussing the fact fatherhood (or lack of it). Haze got the wrong idea and thought that she was no longer loved and packed her bags. Heather and Garry attempted to sort out the troubled couple, but Hazel admitted that she was about to leave Albert Square. To help Minty cope, she asked Garry to tell him that she did not love Minty (and Garry received a punch for the message). Hazel left the square in a black cab as Minty chased after it.
