Max Branning is another character in Eastenders who has seen it all, done it all and in the end is set to pay the price for his dodgy business dealings and his dodgy personal life. Having been found out after attempting to defraud the Queen Vic, and Peggy Mitchell, out of tens of thousands of pounds he is now in debt to Phil Mitchell having lost the possessions in his home, his car and his family. What will happen to Max Branning in the short term?

While his son Bradley Branning has returned for a short stint he is set to leave the show in the New Year and Max will be all alone again. Quite what will happen to his character is unclear at the moment although there have been no rumours of an exit or any dramatic storyline in the short term. Quite where the Eastenders scriptwriters can take the character in the short to medium term is unclear but one thing is for sure, Max Branning has had some of the more dramatic and more attention grabbing headlines over the last couple of years!
