Best ManStacey tells Max that Bradley is planning to ask him to be his best man. Stacey pleads with Max to find a way to say no. Max has other issues on his mind; he sees photos of older boys drinking with Lauren on the Internet. Max tries to avoid Bradley but fails, and is unable to get rid of him. Bradley asks the question, but Max turns him down with no explanation after Stacey gives him a warning look.

Roxy accuses Ben of stealing the missing engagement ring. Ben eventually relents that Jay took it, resulting in Roxy giving Jase half an hour to get the ring back. Jase pretends that Roxy is his fiancé in order to make the pawnshop owner open up. Phil learns of earlier goings on and rages at Roxy for scaring Ben.

Shirley’s landlord has changed the locks and thrown her belongings out. Shirley tells Heather to return home so she wont be homeless, but Heather is unwilling after hearing what Queenie really thought of her. They are unable to break the door down, but Heather heads back home to collect her savings book. However, she discovers that Queenie has taken most of the money.

Meanwhile, Jane tells Pat that she cannot control the kids, while Lucy enjoys the return of Steven. At dinner, Peter’s worries about Ian make Steven look nervous. He complains that Ian should have followed him to New Zealand, but Pat defends Ian, arguing that Ian treated Steven as one of his own.
