Jase sees the struggled attempts to resusitate Honey’s baby, and is convinced that the baby is dead. He calls Dawn, and asks to speak to Jay. He tells Jay that he wont be returning, and that he is sorry for being such a bad dad. Meanwhile, Honey and Billy are relieved to hear a cry from their baby, and the staff reassure them that everything is okay. Back at The Vic, Roxy and Ronnie persuade the locals to help clear up the mess by offering them free booze. As they make a toast to the birth, Phil unexpectedly enters. He is angry to see the mess, and to learn of Jase’s involvement.

While Phil heads off to The Vic, Jase gets a taxi to the snooker hall. The gang are recounting their raid, when Jase appears and launches an attack on Bird. The gang leave him in a bad way, but Terry takes him to hospital. Terry tells Jase that he wanted him to lead the firm, and is unimpressed when Jase remains adamant that he wants out. Terry heads to Jase’s, and shows Jay footage of Jase kicking a motionless man. When Jase arrives back at the flat, Terry tells him that he will never be free from them. As Terry leaves, Jase picks up a spanner and swings for him. Phil intervenes, and tells Terry and Bird that the baby has died, and the police view them as responsible. The police arrive and arrest Terry and Bird. Jase makes amends with Jay, but Phil warns Jase that he owns him now…

Meanwhile in Albert Square, Pat finds Steven sleeping rough. Steven admits that he cannot return to New Zealand; Simon and his fiancé do not want him there. Pat visits Ian to tell him that Steven will be staying with her indefinitely. Jane is shocked, and tells Peter that Steven shot her.
