Christmas 1985 on Eastenders was a mixed affair with some good, bad  and happy times.  Saeed and Naima Jeffrey’s arranged marriage came to an end as the realised it was not working. 

Lou Beale was informed by her son Pete that she was too old to work on the fruit and veg stall and was forced into early retirement.  While she did nt take it lying down, she did have a good old knees up at home with Ether Skinner and Dot Cotton - two of her closest friends.

Elsewhere Andy O’Brien and girlfriend Debbie got engaged, and everybody enjoyed a good old knees up at the Queen Vic led by Simon Wicks on the piano. Oh, happy times……………….
