The Eastenders cast has changed dramatically over the years with Ian Beale (played by Adam Woodyatt ) now the only member of the original cast still on the show. We have seen families come and go, we have seen numerous landlords and landladies at the Queen Vic but somehow the Eastenders scriptwriters appear able to maintain a backbone of well-known and well recognised characters on the show.

Some of the more memorable Eastenders storylines include the Angie and Den divorce on Christmas Day, Mark Fowler and his death from an aids related illness, the murder of Den Watts, the attempted murder of Phil Mitchell, the attempted murder of Ian Beale and more recently the death of Ronnie’s daughter Danielle and now the death of Archie Mitchell.

Despite numerous ups and downs over the years there is no doubt that Eastenders remains one of the U.K.’s more popular soaps although that title often flip-flops between Coronation Street and Eastenders. So what does the future hold for the cast of Eastenders?
