The story regarding Peggy Mitchell, a.k.a. Barbara Windsor, is a bizarre one to say the least because it is common knowledge that Barbara Windsor has fallen out with the management of Eastenders and will be leaving the show in the New Year. But did she really order the death of Archie? Or did she really carryout this gruesome act on her own?

While there is no doubt that Peggy has a very volatile temper, we have seen flashes of this in the past, and she had many reasons to kill Archie, surely this is not the way they are written out one of Eastenders best loved stars?

This week we see Peggy Mitchell arrested on suspicion of murder when her daughter Sam Mitchell confides in the police that she overheard Peggy asking Phil to have Archie killed. It seems as though Sam Mitchell, arrested for her part in the death of Den Watts some years ago, has opened up to the police in the hope of some form of leniency.
