In what must be one of these most disturbing storylines ever seen on Eastenders, tonight’s episode saw Ronnie finally find out that Danielle was the daughter. However, she did not believe her daughter at first as her father suggested she was insane and mentally disturbed. A furious Ronnie then pushed Danielle out of the Queen Vic onto the street, bombarding her with a mouthful of abuse. The poor child was heartbroken and was found wandering the streets by Stacey.
However, Danielle had placed her locket in Ronnie’s champagne glass at Peggy’s wedding, which Ronnie later found when the toasts were announced. A distraught Ronnie then attempted to find her daughter and finally caught her as she was about to enter the train station and leave forever. Danielle then turned to Ronnie, who confirmed she knew the truth and beckoned her daughter across the road.
However, as she was crossing the road to be reunited with her mother for the first time, Janine came flying across the square in a car knocking Danielle over. Despite attempting to help her daughter she finally died in Ronnie’s arms after finally uttering the words “mum”.
A storyline which has had all Eastenders fans on the edge of their seats has ended in most dramatic and emotionally draining finale.

I think the writers need to use a bit more imagination - killing off Danielle was SOOOOOO predictable.

We wait for months watching the Daniel - Ronnie story unfold, waiting for the time that it all comes out in the wash, then when it does, the characture gets killed off!?! Does it not occur to the writers that maybe people want to see a good storyline that ends well?
Not only that, but with the amount of advertising car manufacturers must get from all the cars used to kill off charactures in this program the BBC must be making a mint… I doubt we’ll see a reduction in the T.V Licence fee though will we…
Okay bad news makes news but sometimes people want to see good things happen from a bad situation, especially concerning a subject where adoption and finding birth parents is concerned.
How do they pick what demise a characture will come to when they are to be written off… Do they sit there flippin coins like “Right, heads she dies by being run down, and tails she dies by being run down”?? the storyline had a lot more potential, what a waste.

I never write anything about anything, but I have just watched the latest episode where Danielle is mowed down by Janine and then dies!! I have to say I am absolutely raging!! What is the point?? I have watched this storyline for weeks and weeks only for it to end like that! I feel like it was a total waste of time, and so frustrating. I have never known a story to drag on as long and this one. Will there ever be any happiness in Albert Square? We don’t always want to watch misery, it would be nice to see something good happen to someone for a change. I’m not watching Eastenders anymore.

Nice one to the people that write Eastenders. Well worth watching for the last months only to see Danielle die in the good old Eastenders tradition of getting hit by a car. What a shock, really didn’t see that coming but also what a dissapointment. After all this time Ronnie gets to know the thruth only for Danielle to die. Most anticipated episodes for so long and now nothing. They dont get to have their happy ever after they both longed for, and in a way Archie has still won. Archie may have been exposed as the liar he has always been but he said she was dead and now she is she. He never wanted Ronnie to have the baby and now they will never have the chance. A happy ending would have been much prefered.

I have been a big fan of eastenders for over 25 years and never in all my life have i been so cross about an ending or storyline like this before. I will never watch eastenders again as this really just shows you dont know what us viewers want. My advise to you is bring her back like dirty den if you want to save yourself or you may just find yourself losing so many viewers. Whoever wrote this stroyline should be sacked!!

Tonights 1 hour long episode was dissapointing, if this is what is supposed to be winning eastenders soap of the year award i should start practicing your happy faces for coronation street now, the writers didnt need to leave the plot running for so long if they were planning on killing her off in the first place, just seems a waste of time effort and money on producing it.

Adoptions a strange, tragic somtimes necessary thing for all involved, it would almost be irresponsible to portray a story where someone finds their parents and it all ends happily ever after…a storyline about adoption has to be about loss something which came across very strongly tonight.

I am utterly horrified that the writers killed off Danielle. Eventhough I have watched Eastenders from the very beginning, I will NEVER watch it again if Danielle is killed off.

right well, i started watching eastenders because of this story line a couple months back (i think). I have no idea why i have a soft spot for these cheesey parent/kid reunion story lines. If Danielle is actually dead after all that pure and utter shit i watched then i’m swearing off eastenders for life.

I am shocked that eastenders killed danielle off. I mean not only was the story line drawn out, it was much like watching the grass grow, they then kill danielle off. It seems to have become a trend for the eastenders writers, “how could we end this with a bang…I know lets kill her off!” Not very happy viewer right now!

It was fantastic that Archie got his come uppance and that would have been great in itself and we would have all rejoiced in Ronnie finally getting together with Danielle (great little actress by the way) but to kill her off - well, I cried my eyes out. In a time when the viewing public needs cheering up Eastenders go and put the boot in. The story line had so much more potential and yet they choose to kill one of the main characters that was pulling in viewrs. Just for the record the Dotty storyline is pure crap and as far as the Branons are concerned everyone knows that Luaren is not going to prison or detention centre cause social work would put up a good enough case for her not to. I watch Eastenders from time to time and i agree this is just terrible. There was/is plenty of scope for scriptwriters to draw on the ronnie/danielle relationship as one post says above, but not according to the Beeb. A waste of good acting by Sam Janus & Lauren Crace. The BBC make another big mistake. Oh Dear, I think the scripts for Enders are going like the Corrie scripts of a few years back from bad to worse. Never liked Corrie though.

the storyline is very poorly written leading from the moment danielle dies. One can argue that there may be more than 1 seperate ending made for this scene and tonights viewers feedback from forums and social networking sites may enable the bosses to edit the footage ready for friday so at least danielle gets a few more minutes with her mother.

Just scanned the web for comments about last nights episode featuring the premature death of the lovely Danielle (one of the best of your recent younger characters in my humble op.)and concur with the vast majority of comments I’ve seen on the subject. What a waste of a promising storyline and talented young actress! Let’s hope she goes on to bigger and better things, as your current crop of writers have evidently run out of ideas, desperately need a holiday and literally “wasted” one of the most refreshing additions to the cast in ages. When MAx the worst character ever had a car accident you easily brought him back to life. But when such a great character like Danielle had an acciednt you make her dead surley that is not wright. You prolonged such a boring story with Max Tanya and Lauren and it is still happenning and we are just bored of that. Ultimate end is that Max and Tanya are back after all - it got too boring.

I never bother writing stuff about storylines, but this one has left me feeling really empty inside. I truely found the whole thing quite disturbing and personally I think that it is not appropriate for a prime time soap. If it is was real life (I know it is not!!) Ronnie would never get over the loss and would most likely suffer a horrible nervous breakdown. As a mother I can not imagine how awful it would be.
Typical really, the writers drag out a storyline for the past six months and then the moment where we all would have had our little bit of happiness on the square is taken from us.The timing of the accident was ridiculous and im fed up of people getting ran over on the square,surely the walford council would have build speed bumps with the amount of accidents involving speeding cars on eastenders,how much speed can u build up on a small square? if they really had to kill her off they should have had her commit suicide rather than the most inoppertune accident since tiff ran out of the vic right into a speeding car. I sometimes wonder what i pay my license fee for as story writing on the bbc is as poor as ever, dont even get me started with the likes of robin hood, hustle, hotel babylon, torchwood, bonekickers,I guess i dont have to watch these programs if i dont want to, so why do i have to pay for them?

Thought the acting in last night episode was outstanding, especially from Samantha Janus’ part, well done, but i have to agree with everybody else totally disappointed that we’ve been left waiting all this time for Danielle to come clean to Ronnie, only for the storyline to be put to a stop, by Danielle’s death! A heartbreaking episode of Eastenders. I desperately hope Danielle lives to see another day but I doubt she will. It was moving and well acted. If we expect a happy reunion then we’ve lost sight of the fact that Ronnie is the ‘cursed’ character. Condemned or condeming herself to a life of misery. As for bad writing…. I can’t wait for tonights episode and if the texts I’ve received are anything to go by neither can many others. The writers have earned their pennies.
It is absolutely ridiculous to remove the young actress as I feel she hasn’t been given a chance to really shine to the viewers. Was a good episode and fantastic acting but a bad move to end a good storyline that had bags of potential.
What was wrong with giving Ronnie some happiness? I tried complaining but the BBC contact form kept saying my text didn’t pass validation lol.

The producers should think about having danielle in intensive care/coma to keep up the suspence of the viewers, from there they can still use the scenes from where Ronnie tries to leave the country and Jack can be chasing her not only to ask for her hand in marraige…but to tell her that Danielle has woken up. That would be the best choice of ending as i don’t think many people are going to be tuning into Eastenders in the future if they kill Danielle off! A complete cop-out of an ending if so - producers think about it.
You think i will be watching Eastenders ever again no way what a waste of time we wait seven months for Danielle to tell Ronnie and then Danielle is dead seriously Eastenders writers are mad to do end it like this.
Having spent hours of watching and waiting for a happy ending to Danielle and Ronnie’s story line i like hundreds of others am gutted at the extreamly sad at the outcome,Danielle had me glued to my seat, i think she a brillant young actress and as this is her first job i

Well I hope you see that there is not one good comment about last nights episode on this site! I was so so angry after watching last night, we wait all that time for that?! There was so much that could have come from Ronnie finally finding out Danielle was her daughter and also so much Danielle could have said about Archie! i have to say i am utterly disapointed. Garbage. I have watched Eastenders since it started and never before have I been more annoyed and dis-satisfied with a story.
They let this build up and build up, letting us love both these characters and wanting them to both have a sliver of happiness and what to the script writers do? Destroy it. Like they destroy every other decent story-line that has the potential for a happy ending.

Completely wasted opportunity by the BBC and Eastenders to create an interesting story line involving the relationship between Ronnie and Danielle as they struggle to make up for lost years, misunderstandings etc. What will they do with Ronnie now? Have her bickering and being inappropriately maternal towards Roxy again. So ridiculous. An insultling and boring story line for Samantha Janus. How many stupid car crashes on the Square has there been now anyway? Three? I’m so fed up with it now, I’m going to stop watching. There was enough drama in the revelation itself, the death was over kill (pardon the pun)

Never written blog before but after years of being an Eastenders fan am really disappointed in the way the storyline with Ronnie and Danielle has ended. What a waste of time spinning out this yarn only to have the main character killed off just as she is reunited with her mother. Bad mistake storywriters. We all need cheering up with all the doom and gloom lately and this has not helped!!!

viewers enjoy happiness as well as drama and i think such a negative ending to what could have been a heartwarming feelgood storyline is thoughtless and hardfaced, i was looking forward to seeing archie beaten by the bond of mother and daughter, when the headlines highlight such high rates of child neglect and abuse by parents britain could have done with a happiness blub not a sad one.

Having watched this story line for months, and I need to say that all others are totally boring and do not interest me at all, I am very sad and disappointed at the killing off of Danielle. She was a good actress and the whole plot should have been leading up to the final happy finish, where Danielle and Ronnie would spend some time together and get to know each other…and this would have brought Roxie and Ronnie closer as well….what a let down..and despite of one of the views above,…I will not watch this rubbis again…I am off to watch happier programs from now on. Your script writer has definitely made a big mistake here…no votes from me either.

BBC did a right mess of things this time… Archie needed to be punished more for his wickedness, why did Ronnie had to have another misery in her life after everything was taken from her – starting at her baby Amy. Ronnie should have finally had that life she wanted a chance to build a relationship with her daughter, whom she thought was dead… Why did they bring Danielle in to go kill her off again… that’s B— Sh–. Whosoever wrote that script needed to get the slap that Roxy gave Ronnie ten times over.

Ronnie tries to deal with Danielle’s death

The residents of Walford are forced to deal with the aftermath of Peggy and Archie’s wedding day.
Following the tragic events of the previous night, Ronnie’s in an obvious shock while Archie broods, contemplating his next move. When he bumps into Ronnie on the Square, he suggests that he could go with her to see Danielle’s body, but Ronnie threatens him - she’ll kill him if he goes near her daughter again.
Heading for The Vic in search of Peggy, Archie’s surprised to hear that she’s not there. Roxy tells her father that he’s not welcome at the Mitchell home anymore before throwing his belongings from The Vic window onto the pavement below. With Janine walking around in a daze herself, she extends her hand to Archie and there’s a sense of connection between the pair - loneliness and rejection.
Meanwhile, Ronnie’s curious when Danielle’s adoptive father Andy arrives on the Square and despite Stacey’s suggestion to stay away, she doesn’t. After learning from Stacey that Danielle was searching for her birth mother, Andy sees Ronnie in the café. There, Ronnie offers to go with him to see Danielle in the mortuary to identify the body. There, Andy makes the shocking realisation that he’s staring at the woman who gave Danielle up for adoption. An angry Andy goes on to suggest that Ronnie’s neglect killed Danielle. Ronnie’s devastated.
Meanwhile, Max has the taste for family life back again as he tells Tanya that he wants to spend more time with her and the kids; Masood stands up for Jane when Phil moans at her about the mess in The Vic; Tanya wants to talk to Max about their kiss; and Janine breaks down when she takes flowers to the place where she knocked Danielle down.
Were the hell was Janine going anyway, one minute she drives off then half an hour later she runs danielle over…how big is Albert square!
Rubbish!! If she doesn’t come back to life I’m gonna get a life and stop watching it!
Best storyline going for a long time and you’ve ruined it by killing Danielle off! Isn’t Ronnie allowed any happiness. Not what fans wanted. I’ve only been watching Eastenders for this one storyline, waiting for them two to finally be together. You’ve upset alot of FANS script writers. Shame on you!!!!!!

I am a 28 year old male fan who has loyally watched Eastenders since I was 9. However I am thinking of making a determined effort never to watch Eastenders again.
The Ronnie and Danielle story was one of the best ever and admittedly i expected them to find out the truth at Christmas time but the extra delay was worth it as the emotional impact last night was soooo strong. I’m not ashamed to say I actually cried when Ronnie called across to Danielle and said ‘baby’!!
However Janine then running Danielle down was the most stupid and pathetic piece of story writing I have ever seen. Max had not long ago been run over.
If you wanted to kill off Danielle then surely you could have given the viewer a few episodes watching her and Ronnie be happy together. I am going to watch tonight’s episode, Fri 3rd April, and if Danielle doesn’t survive I will not be watching again. Which is a BIG deal for me.
Well done BBC for spoiling the public’s enjoyment of the greatest soap on TV. What with this and the Brand prank I wonder what the hell is going on at the BBC.
Why not run a competition and let the British public write an episode of Eastenders? I bet it will be a lot better than the crap your writers have been churning out in the last few years!

What a complete waste. For months the nation has followed this story line only to kill dannielle off. Why couldn’t the producers just be happy with ruining the wedding without that as well. There can never be a happy ending in this show. Completely ruined my evening and my 8 year old daughter as we were both devastated.

i was crying for like 5 minutes yesterday when i watched it and i think that she should just go into a coma or ronnie ends up resucitating her.
what a way to end they could have gone on to have more story lines with ronnie and dannielle.
They could of even made archie go into a coma or something. i really dont like it it was so horrible.

I cried my ears out all night, didn’t sleep. Having watched for months waiting and waiting for Dan to tell Ronnie. Was so happy when she finally realised only to be kicked in the guts at the end of the programme. The writer needs to think about all the kids in Dan’s situation and portray a positive result in this.

I dont really watch tv anymore, but the “Danielle” storyline got me watching Eastenders again after a gap of over a year. The depressing, rubbish ending really was the final nail in the coffin for me…goodbye Eastenders.

i think the show was discusting , we hav watched the show since danile came into it we hoped for a happy ending , then they kill her off in the same episode as ronny found out who her daughter was. i found it rather disturbing and my grandaughter of 7 years was very upset, she watches it every night before bed, last night she cried herself to sleep but she said nanna will that happen to people who are adopted , are they not ment to be happy when they find there mum. we tried to exoplain that it is just a pretend program but she said that it should not be put on tv because some other children will not want to find there mums because they might die if they find them . this came from the mind of a child . dont the script righters think of young minds watching these programs and that being adopted and finding your parents in there minds may be worrying them now.

i think its really stupid that they killed off danielle. ronnie had only found out that her daughter wasn’t dead and then she dies in her arms. we didnt even get to see the relationship that they would have. the writer of eastenders is really stupid why would you do that now us the viewers will never get to experience what the relationship between ronnie and danielle would have been like. im really sorry but you have now lost 3 viewers (my mum, me, and lil bro) thanks alot !!!!!!!!!!!!
In all the years I haved watched Eastenders, which admittedly has only been about 7 or 8 years. I have never felt so disappointed and let down with a storyline, all this time and money they have; in my opinion wasted on what was an excellent storyline to end up with it just fizzling out like that. I have never felt so let down by this soap, and what makes it worse is Danielle dying in the arms of Ronnie, is a rip-off from the upsetting and heart wrenching death of Max Cunningham in the arms of his best friend in Hollyoaks.
I think the writers need to put a bit more effort and thought into where their storylines are heading, and make them somewhat original. If only Ronnie and Danielle had had some time to bond and then after that time let something happen, with either Archie hurting them yet again or something else.
Eastenders certainly have some making up to do as there are many fans out there who are terribly disappointed and let down by what was shaping up to be a fantastic storyline, only to end dismaly and end up in the show probably losing quite a few viewers.
I think the end of this storyline is a disgrace, we have waited 6 months for this and Danielle died. This is an awful thing, because of all the doom and gloom in society today you cant even produce a happy ending. You ruined the whole story, this is the thought of many people. I am never going to watch this programme again due to this. I was a massive fan of the show and yet because of your uncalled for actions in a storyline, you have destroyed this!!
Now we know why they kept the ending a secret: because it was crap! Up until the wedding episode, there were some beautiful moments between Ronnie and Danielle and it was all for nothing. I thought the big moment was going to be a classic we couldn’t stop watching but they wasted a wonderful opportunity to capture the nation’s hearts. Samantha and Lauren were outstanding but dreadfully let down by a lazy ending. Such a shame

I am really disgused and the episode really upset me, I think it is incredibly Cruel and would like the writes to re-write the script as I have Read Next weeks Spoilers and Dannielly is definately dead, I am very Disapointed and will not be watching eastenders again - I has watched this for 20 years and can honestly say that this episode has been the most upsetting and dissapointing - I thought the acting was fantastic from Ronnie and Danielle however there was nothing else good about it at all, I hope they loose viewers in their millions over this.

Your storylines these days go on for far too long and become boring but to leave your viewers waiting for many agonising episodes for ronnie to finally find out her daughter is still alive and then kill her off was a big mistake.Why did it take janine so long to drive such a short distance? I just wanted to comment on Thursday’s ‘big’ let down - what a dissapointment. Who ever came up with the final storyline for the Danielle/Ronnie saga does not have a clue and clearly does not care about their viewers. Never had i watched something and been so dissapointed with the ending. I feel cheated, and robbed. The person who is in charge, sack. We’ve had stupid storylines about George Michaels house and his rubbish bin, endless daft storylines, the only one that was good has gone, just like that. The good characters get rubbish storylines, and the deadwood get lines to say that are pointless. I remember in my English class, we could lose points for bad endings to our stories. This would have got a big fat F for fail.

I have stopped watching Eastenders from tonight - I only watched tonight in case Danielle had just been unconscious and would be taken to hospital to recover.
I agree, exwatcher. What a sadistic ending to the Danielle / Ronnie story. Eastenders’ writers obviously could not handle the writing for a reuniting of Ronnie with her daughter - just unsatisfying and inadequate. After months of unbelievably-contrived situations to avoid Danielle simply telling Ronnie the truth, they can’t cope with the scene when it happens. The ending was not only cliched, but nasty.
I hope the BBC loses thousands of viewers from Eastenders after this; they have certainly lost two here. We were hoping for the pleasure finally of watching Danielle and Ronnie bond and heal their pain; but that would never do with Eastenders’ sad writers.
It is pointless watching their convoluted storylines when they always bottle out from a believable, compassionate climax. Also, Lauren Crace made Eastenders worth watching, so they have written out another reason to watch it. I hope Corrie signs her up.

Tut tut — stupid stupid directors– have you no original ideas? — same old Tiffany story all over again. You stretch this story out for such a long time and then kill the whole thing dead- when you killed of Danielle character needlessly.
Danielle is superbly acted by Lauren Grace — one of the few great actors on the programme. She acted everyone else of the screen. Why does Eastenders directors and writers(if you could call them writers?) create such horrible one dimensional characters such as Ronnie Mitchell, Stacy Slater etc etc– who continually shout at one another for no actual reason- like demented witches with serious anger management issues. Great role models for teenagers with asbos, no doubt. But terrible to watch on screen. The same was of Sean Slater who constant grimaced at the camera and scowled at everyone– great storyline great acting - not.
Come on BBC — there is no area on this planet that small like the square in Eastenders that everyone is so nasty and so unhappy and when anyone dies– it is never in a conventional way– its all sooo sensational sooo over the top that the programme has just become so unbelievable. No one ever eases out of life in an ordinary way. They are all mowed down, shot, driven over or poisoned or stabbed.
If this is the best that scriptwriters can come up with for the Danielle death episode– then give me a shout any time– I reckon my dog could come up with more original storylines. I do wonder sometimes, do the production staff ever speak with one another? Even “Doctors” - a tame, afternoon soap is acting and writing Eastenders into a cocked hat. Maybe some of the Eastenders production team should look to the afternoon soap to see how good quality acting writing and production is done.
Danielle was one of the best acted and strongest new characters in Eastenders — and you kill her off– really stupid move. Luckily Lauren who acts Danielle is a great actress and hopefully will get more better and bigger parts. She was a breath of fresh air among the smog that is Eastenders.

Thursday nights episode was not what my family expected from prime time BBC, I myself am a 43 year old ex soldier and was disturbed by this episode, heaven knows what this has done to the many other children around the country that will have been watching. I would guess that this program alone is more damaging than most 18 certificate videos and computer games. I pay the BBC to entertain me not to build me up and then let me down over such a long period of time. I will be complaining to the ombudsman and to the BBC directly and would encourage others to do the same.
The sad thing is that this was probably one of East Enders best story lines and could have been so much different with a little thought.

BRING BACK DANIELLE
I’ve watched Eastenders since day 1 and has always been my favourite soap, never miss an episode. The Danielle/Ronnie storyline is an outrage….if the writers thought they’d get respect from this outcome they’re far, far wrong. This was a huge mistake and I wont be tuning in for any more episodes if they don’t bring back Danielle.
Lauren was a fab up and coming actress and Ronnie (Samantha Janus) has had soo much heartache, she deserved some happiness.
From this storyline we’ll only see Ronnie shead more tears and become more & more bitter (which is becoming Yawnsome) but what else can she do, if she survives this!
Do the writers think that only mysery & sadness equals drama? WRONG - Viewers relish happiness too and Eastenders is more and more becoming “The Misery Soap”.
A far better storyline would have been Ronnie & Danielle reuniting, the family turning on and shaming Archie and him running out the pub into Janines car ….now…that… would have made the viewers CHEER large and we’d have continued to tune in for many many more episodes.
BRING DANIELLE BACK or me for one is out and I’m sure there will be many more leaving.

what a fantastic ending to a storyline that really went on too long…the ending to the daniele/ronnie saga was fantastic. shakespearean in its writing and full of pathos. The production of the last 2 episodes was fantastic and very theatrical. Well done on the whole thing. I don’t usually follow eastenders but I though that the the omnibus edition that I watched on thursday night was worthy of an oliver. very fantastic!! strong female leads, normal male leads taking either comical role (billy, ian) or backstage roles (phil) really allowed the drama to unfold. Archie…what a fabulous villian. Well done. it wasn’t poignant, none of the characters involved were terribly likeable, but the whole thing was tragic, as i said, in a sheakespearean sense. danielle, and ophelia, how similar. the parting scene of the main characters filmed from above, over a dead danielle…very well done. There was nowhere else for these characters to go other than further down than they were already. The writing, the acting, the direction and the production was fantastic and transcended soap opera into something special.

Know it won’t change anything but I’ve complained to the BBC and I hope others do. The writers shouldn’t feel they did well with that episode. Only Sam and Lauren’s acting was accomplished. I have been watching this dragged out, but the most interesting plot for ages, and can’t believe they ended it with a car accident. The sad thing is that we all actually pay our licence fee for this extremely poor writing. A car accident, for god sake how many car accidents can there be, Tiffany, Max, Phil, Ian, what crap…I do not know my real Father and would love to find him, I really found this very depressing. Dear Sirs,
I am sorry but the ending was cowardly written. I believe that your writers felt that this tradegy would keep Ronnie from becoming soft. The example used was it would ruin Ronnie if she having an ice cream in the park with Danielle. Rubbish and you know it! Being a mother brings out more protective and possible aggressive instincts in required situations. How dare you do this! It was pathetic and not fitting for a 7 month wait.
I have no interest in your show anymore and your writers excuse just dont wash. I believe they did this on purpose to upset us and they succeeded. I hate the show and I hate what it stands for and in some respects that scene showed me what your all about. I thank you for opening up my eyes because the show is immature, depressing, average and the writers are well below par. I will now switch off and get a life quite frankly. I still feel that the writers should redo the last scene again! This scene has cost you more than you could have expected and it has shown that the show is depressing awful just like the writers. so get lost!

I cannot believe a great storyline and great episode ended in this way. It sounds silly but i feel so let down by the writers for this pathetic ending. The Ronnie/Danielle storyline blossoming would have kept viewers gripped and for once, enjoying watching something good happening. The writers have totally ruined my enjoyment of the programme and missed a trick because Lauren is such a good actress. They should feel ashamed that they couldn’t have come up with a better ending, its just pathetic and so dissapointing.

It was a great storyline and it ended in a totally ungreat way. She should have survived. However there may be a chance she isn’t dead, her character page on the official website hasn’t been touched and the Danielle’s diary is still up. They have got people putting memoir things on it though , so I don’t know. But hopefully she isn’t dead.

I think the writers wanted to leave an emotional impact on their viewers by ending the storyline the way they did - they wanted us to feel Ronnie’s sense of tragedy over Danielle’s death.
That wasn’t, though, how I felt after watching it. It was an incredibly trite and lazy resolution to the arc. I didn’t feel Ronnie’s pain, I felt like I’d been slapped in the face by a sadistic writer and led down the garden path for months. A good writer would have made the viewers connect with Ronnie in the moment, when all they have done is taken viewers out of the story and focus it on the writing team instead.
It was an extremely poor, disturbing and overused plot device which has ruined Danielle’s character and Ronnie’s as well. Ronnie was never a well-adjusted character, and this arc has destroyed her. It will be completely unrealistic if she does not spend years clinically depressed and beyond damaged by the way you have wrung out events. This is not a character that is worth investing in emotionally after this point; there is nothing redeeming in her character any more that can bring her back from this.
The writers have destroyed my trust in the programme. We all know that it is all bound to end badly and tragically, so what is the point of being emotionally invested in any of the characters? You variously write psychopaths, child molesters, lonely has-beens, friendless loners, thieves, criminals and nymphomaniacs - your show is a litany of abnormal psychology trying to best its own narrative depravity. You’ve really stooped too low this time.
I just want the writer(s) to know that they didn’t achieve what they set out to do with the viewers. You couldn’t have ended it more amateurishly and with less originality and professionalism than you did here. I have never watched a story arc that made me feel as utterly appalled as yours did. Cynical, opportunistic, and pointless. Congratulations on achieving the opposite of what you set out to do.
I guess they are to blind, dumb, or just plain stupid.. everyone could see their was chemistry between danielle and ronniec, they could of taken it anywhere?? what do we get now, back to jack and roxy loves triangle.. yarn, yarn, and very boring…. we have seen it all before and it’s blatantly predictable. oh, there is a new twist to it. they all get run over by ricky leaving phil and peggy to look after baby amy??
Why the hell didn’t EE warn us about the distressing ending. I’m a carer for a boy who’s been rejected by his mother and who has identified with Danielle, as I’m sure many others have. Since Thursday, he’s been sad and withdrawn and left with no hope. If we’d known about the ending, I could have persuaded him not to watch it. Please complain to the bbc at http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints. Many have already. I’m appalled at the insensitive and tragic portrayal of adoption - just playing it for drama and entertainment. I was very disappointed about danielle’s ending. I’ve been waiting months for it to conclude and then you kill her!!! What a waste of a good story line and actress. I was only watching to see how ronnie would react. I trulel don’t feel like watching EE anymore, i feel let down.

Just when I thought the writers couldn’t get any more depraved, seeing a broken Ronnie being told by Danielle’s dad that “You killed her. You killed Danielle” takes the biscuit.
What are you going to do next? Have Ronnie dig up the body before slitting her wrists in the bath? Maybe chuck in a few shots of a grinning Archie interspersed with more guttural screams?

After watching Eastenders for almost twenty years this is the first time that I want the producers to know that at least one of the writers has made a serious mistake.
He (or she) didn’t only kill Danielle but also a storyline that was one of the best in the Eastenders history.

It’s NOT real life, folks. It was a realistic outcome, because Ronnie is this tortured character. And what do you want? Zilch conflict = zilch drama, = boredom. My first reaction was the same, because those brilliant writers gave us the ultimate dramatic scenario. I felt upset, but when I looked at why they did what they did, I realised it would have been a false Ronnie emerging into a world of personal happiness. It just wasn’t on the cards for her, and sometimes the TRUTH is better than nice tv.
The script writers, editors and all invoved in the script making decisions. You deserve what you will undoubtedly get. The big boot.

Unfortunately the ending is another case of the scriptwriters’ obsession with Janine.
First we had Claire’s pointless return, she was dropped as a bitch to bring back Janine. Then Honey was dropped even though the story line of a family bringing up a Downes Syndrome baby was of valuable social interest, all so Janine could move back in with Billy, and now this.
We are supposed to believe that a person who killed her husband will show remorse over someone she hardly knew.Or perhaps it is to bond Janine with Pat who did the same thing.
Sorry BBC its bad scriptwriting, but it’s easy to blame the writers it’s the producers should have more brains, it is half witted to believe viewers are entertained by constant misery.
atheling, of course it isn’t REAL life, and that’s what drama is all about. There’s some aspects of real life in the soaps, yes, but drama equals conflict. This isn’t comedy or ‘nice’ gentle stuff, it’s Eastenders. I guarantee, if this storyline had gone the other way, there’d be much less for any of those characters to get their teeth into. Again, I’ll say, it isn’t REAL LIFE.
I feel that the writers/producers are more interested in winning awards than entertaining the viewers. In the complaints section of the BBC their response to complaints regarding this storyline is that they have to strike a balance between happy/sad storylines. Can anyone tell me what happy storyline? They do not win awards. This is shown at a time when families are watching together. Young children are subjected to some very disturbing material. We are being subjected to some very lazy/lowest common denominator script writing. Time for a change I think. I am seriously considering my viewing options now!
I was utterley disappointed when Danielle’s character was killed off!! Our household had been waiting months and hoping for once in Enders, for a HAPPY outcome…..it would have been the icing on the cake….but no, as soon as Enders Directors get a decent story line, they moth ball it!! Well I for one am NOT looking forward to sullen faces, Archiebald tooing and froing, and the poor sheer misery Ronnie is going to go through…..in this current climate people need lifting NOT their hopes and dreams (even though it is only TV) quashing…..this could have been a fantastic outcome for Enders but I’m sorry to say……what a BIG mistake they have made.
Such a harrowing and totally unnecessary ending for such a loveable character/story/relationship. Would have been much better if after the accident, Danielle recovers in hospital and then goes away with Ronnie to work at the bar in Ibiza (injecting some much-needed sun into the soap)!. Danielle makes a new life for herself and Ronnie comes back to the square because of Jack/Roxy/Amy. Then when Sam Janus wanted a holiday, they could temporarily have written her out by her going to see Danielle in Ibiza. How wonderful would that have been? The scriptwriters have no imagination!!

How infuriating was The Secret Mitchel? They obviously saw the backlash coming but it was too late to change the story so they used their brilliant actors to try and justify their pathetic plot by saying it was the right thing. Not one person in the street would think that was the right thing. They killed her off to make their job easier.

Now Peggy - a caring mother and always despairing at her children getting into trouble - has asked her son Phil to traumatise himself and face a life-wrecking jail sentence by killing Archie. What?! They killed Danielle - the most gentle and beautiful character for yonks - to move the plot to this implausible scenario?
Phil’s revenge on Archie can only be a second-rate Reservoir Dogs because of the pre-watershed timeslot. And because of this timeslot, kids will be encouraged to carry out revenge plots and commit more violence. Just what the country needs! Danielle would have been a positive influence and role-model.

The Danielle/Ronnie story - what a cop out. A disappointing, depressing and abrupt end to a story line, spun out for far too long. Too many E/enders story-lines ending in tragedy. Life does actually have some happy endings. With so many dreadful things happening in the real world; stabbings, financial problems, it would have been uplifting to have a happy reunion between long lost daughter and mother. The director made the last scene look unreal - Danielle stood still and waited for the car to run her over. Having doubts as to whether or not to watch E/E anymore. It’s looking like Chelsea’s love interest doomed……….tho she is one of the more wooden characters so little would be lost. A definite case of silverware over silver-linings
i think they wasted what could of been a great story line.If I had wrote the story line Id of done this…I think they should of get Danielle to keep the baby. She should of told Ronnie in the aportion clinic that she wasnt going to kill her (Ronnies) grandchild and run out. Then we could of had 9 months to see the relationship grow between them n then Danielle could of died in child birth leaving Ronnie holding the baby and then we could of seen if she would of got down the adoption road again or if she would keep the baby,if she kept the baby we could of seen if she would be a good mother or not.

It’s Easter, yet no one’s talking about Jesus coming back from the dead but want Danielle to come back from the dead! TV is the new Christianity and Danielle is obviously the new Jesus! So, what they should do is have a one-off special called ‘EasterEnders’ in which Danielle’s body has to be exhumed for evidence. However, when they open the coffin, her body is gone. Later that evening, everyone is in the Vic having an Easter celebration when in walks Danielle in a grubby shawl saying God brought her back from the dead. No one would even dare criticise it because it would be like criticising God’s resurrection of Jesus. Problem solved!
I’ve been watching eastenders for the last 13-14 years and have never been so angry or disappointed with the television soap until now.Fans have been watching the story between Ronnie and Danielle very closely for the last six + months just for her to die seconds after Ronnie realise she was her long lost daughter.Such a disappointing ending and basically a waste of viewers time.
The writers and producers have really made a mess on this one if they were really hell bent on killing off Danielle could have at least let her and Ronnie have some mother and daughter time even if it was for five or six weeks.They Ronnie and Daniel could then have had the big fight with archie with Danielle ending up dead.Not a particularly happy ending but at least it’s better than a few seconds.

All you ever hope for as a programme-maker is to connect with your audience and get them to care.What an idiot, we are not enraged with the characters we are enraged with the pathetic plot and the fact that the above writer ran out of ideas. He believes that this was the only option? To waste our time and he wanted to drag it on for a year if he could. What an amateur he really is, we are enraged yes because it went on for 9 months and the ending was not worthy of the build up. I never watch Eastenders that they kill Danielle. It was enjoyable watching Danielle reunited with Ronnie. Roxy, Ronnie and Danielle are more fun and intresting than the ohers.
