Billy Mitchell came up trumps last week despite his less than gracious part in the death of Jay’s father Jason. Despite being ridiculed by everybody in Albert Square, with the exception of Phil, Billy managed to hold his own and come up trumps when required.
When Jay was kidnapped by gangster Terry’s cronies ahead of the trial, in order to ensure that Billy did not give evidence, Billy was devastated and did not know what to do. However, gathering courage from somewhere he decided to call the police and an ambulance and went in to save the day. After receiving a severe beating at the hands of Terry’s cronies he was then taken hospital treatment and later emerged in court to give evidence against Terry, knowing that Jay was now safe.
Thankfully Terry was sent down for a long time and apparently his empire is on the verge of collapse after his wife ridiculed him and left him reeling. Billy has not been the most popular character in Eastenders of late but his latest heroics have put him back on track and he and Jay seems set to enjoy a life together.
Elsewhere there was further mystery regarding Stacey’s disappearance, Ronnie wants a baby with Jack and the Dot and Nick saga moves towards a dramatic finale.
