Barbara WindsorBarbara Windsor has recently turned down a role in the upcoming ‘Carry On’ Film.  Better known to us now as Eastender’s Peggy Mitchell, Windsor (70) made her name starring in nine of the original carry on films, between 1964 and 1977.  The new film is due to be released in 2008, but it seems that Windsor is destined to remain behind the bar of the Vic as Peggy for now.  Well, maybe.  Windsor also let slip that Peggy may be ready to hand over to Ronnie and Roxy.  Only time will tell, but maybe it is time for Peggy to enjoy retirement…

Another confession from Windsor recently; she prefers Peggy to remain single, as she feels too old for on screen kissing.  Citing nerves as the main reason, Windsor also declared that viewers would probably not want to see older characters engaging in such activities.  Well, all I can say is that I think the time is right for Peggy to get a new man in her life.  Or maybe Jack could return for a longer stint, as Peggy was rather taken by him.  Of course, any kissing (or other activity) could conveniently take place off screen to keep Barbara happy!
