Earlier this week we reported that Barbara Windsor was relieved that her Eastender’s character, Peggy Mitchell, remained single since she felt too old to do on-screen kissing.  It seems that Windsor is not the only member of the cast to have issues with those embarrassing romantic kissing scenes.  Newcomer Scott Maslen has recently admitted that he is dreading the filming of steamy scenes with Samantha Janus (who plays Ronnie Mitchell).  Ex The Bill actor Maslen will be arriving in Albert Square by the end of the month as ladies-man Jack Branning.  It seems that Jack Branning will have a fling with Ronnie Mitchell…so why is Maslen moaning I hear you asking…a lot of men would be delighted with that storyline!

Well, Maslen and Janus are close friends, with his wife being her best friend.  Maslen and his wife are also godparents to Janus’ children, and the pair have been friends since the age of 16.  Maslen told papers that if he has to kiss Janus it would be like him kissing his sister, and the only way to do it would be to get drunk.  Sounds like a plan!  Maybe their partners should get it on just so that no one feels left out!
