Remember Nigel, Debbie and Claire?  Well, no doubt some of you will.  Claire was the daughter of Debbie who married quirky Nigel Bates.  Back in 1995 her mother died, leaving her and her stepfather Nigel alone.  She eventually left to live with her real father in Scotland.  Well, now Claire is set to return to Walford after nearly ten years.  The original actress, Gemma Bissix will be reprising her role.  Gemma (24) has been playing super-bitch Claire Cunningham in Hollyoaks for the last year, so may be familiar to some viewers.  All we know so far about her return is that she hopes to stay with Dot, who treated her as a granddaughter all that time ago.  Dot was equally as fond of Nigel, often saying that he was a better son than Nick.  It seems that Dot will be thrilled to see Claire, but I wonder what twists there will be along the way…

In an ideal world, this would also see the return of Nigel and his amazing collection of crazy shirts and super ties…but this is probably just wishful thinking!  Still, in the week that has seen the return of Steven Wicks, it is promising to see Eastenders remembering its past…who knows who might be next.  Well, I think we can all rule out Dirty Den coming back from the dead for a second time…
