Since joining Eastenders in November 2002 Alfie Moon has become one of the most lovable characters the show has ever seen. Real name Alfred William “Alfie” Moon, he has had more than his fair share of turmoil and while he originally left the show in December 2005 he returned by popular demand in September 2010. The character himself is played by Shane Richie who has certainly been taken to the hearts of fans of the show.
There is also no doubt that Alfie has had more than his fair share of close shaves with the police and various other law associations but one heartbreaking storyline saw him find his wife Kat was pregnant by another man. He then agreed to take on his cousin’s son, Tommy, but Ronnie Mitchell, on the verge of a nervous breakdown, swapped her dead child with Tommy and Kat and Alfie buried her child thinking he was their own. Finally the truth came out as Ronnie stood on the edge of a mental breakdown although the scars of this turmoil have caused major problems with the relationship between Alfie and his wife.
Alfie is currently the landlord of the Queen Victoria pub and despite his ups and downs he continues to live life to the full, live life with a smile and he seems to be there for everybody. He hides his own heartbreak behind a cheeky chappie personality and is certainly one of those characters that fills the room. We will be bringing you more and more news on Alfie and his storylines in the weeks and months ahead.
